Text Messaging (SMS) Terms & Conditions

By opting in to receive text messages from Westport Road Church of Christ (WRCC), you agree to these SMS Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Program Description

WRCC uses text messaging to communicate with members, visitors, volunteers, and staff. Message categories include, but are not limited to:

  • Service times, ministry updates, and event reminders.
  • Severe weather updates, campus closures, or schedule changes.
  • Pastoral care, prayer requests, and direct staff-to-member communications.
  • Volunteer scheduling and group notifications.

Communications are sent using our primary administrative and messaging platforms, including Planning Center, Breeze, and RingCentral.

2. How to Opt-In

You can opt in to receive SMS messages from WRCC through any of the following methods:

  • Texting START to our church phone number 502-893-0342, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.
  • Verbally telling a church office admin that you opt in, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.
  • Noting on your 'Connect Card' that you wish to opt in, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.

By opting in, you confirm that you are the primary account holder or authorized user of the mobile phone number provided.

Message frequency varies based on church activities and your group involvement. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

3. Opt-Out Instructions (How to Unsubscribe)

You can cancel or stop receiving text communications at any time.

  • To Stop All Texts: Reply STOP to any text message you receive from us.
  • You will receive one final confirmation text message acknowledging your opt-out request. After this, no further automated or mass messages will be sent to your mobile number unless you opt back in.

4. Help and Customer Support

If you are experiencing issues or need assistance with our texting service:

  • Reply HELP to any text message you receive from us.
  • Contact our church administrative office directly at office@wrccfamily.org or call 502-893-0342

5. Cost and Message Frequency

  • Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and wireless plan. WRCC does not charge a fee for receiving text messages, but your carrier's standard charges apply.
  • Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your level of involvement with church programs, ministries, volunteer teams, or direct interactions with pastoral staff.

6. Supported Carriers & Liability

  • Text messaging is supported by major US and international wireless carriers.
  • Carrier Liability: Mobile carriers (such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) and messaging platforms are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network provider.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is very important to us. We will not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or opt-in information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

8. Changes to Terms

WRCC reserves the right to update or modify these SMS Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will become effective immediately upon posting the updated terms to our website.
