This Text Messaging Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your mobile information when you communicate via SMS/MMS with our ministers, staff, and leadership.

When you opt in to receive text messages from WRCC, we may collect:

  • Your mobile phone number and name.
  • Basic contact details provided via connection cards or online sign-ups.
  • Message history and interactions with ministers, staff, or ministry leaders.
  • Opt-in consent records.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your mobile phone number and text interactions exclusively for ministry and church organizational purposes, including:

  • Sending ministry updates, service reminders, and urgent weather/schedule alerts.
  • Facilitating group communications for volunteer teams, committees, and small groups.
  • Providing direct pastoral care, prayer support, and one-on-one communication from ministers and staff.
  • Responding to direct inquiries sent to our main church phone lines.

3. Sharing Information with Outside Companies

We value your trust and do not sell, rent, or trade your personal contact information.

  • Third-Party Service Vendors: We utilize trusted church management and communication service platforms—specifically Planning Center, Breeze, and RingCentral—strictly to process, send, and receive text communications on our behalf. These software systems assist us with record-keeping, administrative communications, and staff-to-member texting. They are bound by strict confidentiality obligations and are only permitted to process your data to deliver our communication services.
  • No Marketing Sharing:

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. How Ministers and Staff Text

  • Individual Communications: Our ministers and staff use RingCentral to send and receive direct texts and phone calls using official church phone numbers, keeping ministry interactions professional and secure.
  • Group & Broadcast Communications: Mass text alerts and group updates are managed through our church administration software (Planning Center and Breeze).

5. Opt-In & Consent

You will only receive text messages from WRCC if you have explicitly provided consent. Consent can be given by:

  • Texting START to our church phone number 502-893-0342, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.
  • Verbally telling a church office admin that you opt in, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.
  • Noting on your 'Connect Card' that you wish to opt in, and we will record that in your Breeze Profile.

Message frequency varies based on church activities and your group involvement. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

6. Opt-Out & Support Procedures

You are in control of the messages you receive at all times:

  • To Stop Receiving Texts: Reply STOP to any text message you receive from us. You will receive a single confirmation message verifying that you have been unsubscribed.
  • For Help or Support: Reply HELP to any text message, or email us directly at office@wrccfamily.org

Access to mobile phone numbers and text records in Planning Center, Breeze, and RingCentral is strictly restricted to authorized ministers, administrative staff, and designated ministry leaders.
